Our partnership with Blackburn Rovers FC gives our academy students the chance of a two-week FA Level 1 Licensed Coaching Course. This includes having one full-day release at Blackburn Rovers FC Category 1 Academy, participating in education, training and gym work. The students will also take part in structured fitness regimes and play competitive football in the English Schools and College Football League and enter three cup competitions.
Our boarding accommodation is safe and spacious and provides a genuine ‘home from home’ atmosphere.
The Moorland Football Academy setup makes sure that every student is well looked after and afforded necessary pastoral care, help and support. Full boarding students receive four nutritious meals per day, seven days per week, prepared by the school’s qualified team of chefs.
Our students also have access to many unrivalled opportunities, such as working with renowned coaches from Category 1 Academies who hold UEFA A & B licenses, as well as our growing portfolio of guest coaches appearing at the academy. Crucially, our students are monitored weekly by the scouting networks of Category 1 Clubs, such as Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City FC.
The areas of study on our course allow learners to develop their technical skills, underpinned by knowledge developed in consultation with employers and professional bodies. Combining this with our experienced coaching staff, it gives students an excellent opportunity to translate the skills and knowledge they learn to a career within the sports industry.
With a delivery that consists of a wide range of units, the course allows students to consider employment in varying areas such as coaching, working towards delivering a sport curriculum in schools or even running their own coaching company. This qualification also offers learners the opportunity to progress to further study and higher education being equivalent to three A-Levels.
