Gift Aid allows UK charities to reclaim the tax from Inland Revenue that you have already paid in tax (as a UK tax payer) when you made your donation. We can claim the tax back from the Inland Revenue and add it to the value of your gift to Moorland School, which enables your donation to go further. For example, with a gift of £50 we would be able to reclaim an additional £12.50, which would bring the total value of your donation to £62.50, increasing your gift by 25%.
All donations made are eligible provided you qualify. To do so you must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax Moorland School is claiming back on your behalf.
To Gift Aid your donation you just need to complete the Gift Aid declaration on the donation form which covers individual donations or a series of donations.
If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim further tax relief on donations made under the Gift Aid scheme through your self-assessment tax return.
